Fort Lauderdale Swordfishing - The Perfect Fix for the Experienced Angler

If you are looking to do battle with the toughest game fish South Florida has to offer, evening swordfishing in the Gulfstream of the Atlantic is your best bet. South Florida has an excellent swordfish fishery, and swordfish are truly one of the toughest predators and hardest fighting fish in the ocean.

This is what makes swordfish the gladiator of the sea. Once an angler feels the strength of a swordfish and sees the beauty of it in the boat or upon release, he or she will be hooked for a lifetime.

Swordfishing has greatly rebounded off the coast of South Florida . With the shutdown of commercial longlining of Florida 's Coast, we are able to truly enjoy great swordfishing. While some nights are better than others, we are getting numerous shots at swordfish just about every night. The great thing about these fish is you never know how big the fish you're fighting is.

Swordfish are pound for pound the toughest game fish that swim the ocean and will keep an angler at the ready for a prolonged fight.

Most Captains leave the dock a couple hours before sunset so the can set up there lines before dusk. The tackle usually used consists of 50 lbs stand up tackle. An average trip lasts 6-8 hours, but we have been known to be hooked up to large and uncooperative swordfish throughout the night.

Fort Lauderdale Swordfishing is truly the perfect fix for an experienced angler who wants to test is skills against the Gladiator of the Sea.

Vinnie's love for the sport of fishing began at an early age. He was raised with a fishing pole in his hand in the old harbor town of Annapolis, Maryland. Vinnie took his knowledge of fishing to the next level at the age of 17, when he was a mate on numerous charter and private fishing boats and worked at local tackle shops while attending college in South Florida. The Major Benefit Of Night Fishing
Number One Benefit to Night FishingI think the best thing about night fishing is that the conditions are generally the same as day fishing, but the results are much better. If you find a good spot where the fish are really hitting during the day, you can go to that same spot at night and get even better results! The fish seem to hit harder at night as well, so it is almost easier to hook them at night than it is during the day, even though it is harder to see the line.
